Sustainable & Responsible Fisheries
SPC Troll Albacore Fishermen are committed to fishing only on properly managed, healthy stocks of Albacore Tuna with fishing techniques that sustain healthy wild fish stocks. Because Pacific Albacore is a highly migratory species (HMS) and moves throughout large areas of the Pacific Ocean it is managed under plans by both the Pacific Fisheries Management Council (PFMC) and the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council. In addition, because of the highly migratory nature of these fish, the U.S. is involved in several International Commissions to ensure the harvests are sustainable in the long term. Troll Albacore Tuna is included in the "Best Choices" list by the Monetery Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch.
