What is trolling?
Trollers are small fishing vessels operated by one or two people who fish with a number of lines and hooks baited with herring or artificial lures. This shouldn’t be confused with trawling which is another fishing method that uses larger vessels and nets to catch fish. |

What is long lining?
Demersal or "bottom" longlining targets fishes that live closer to the seafloor, like cod, halibut and sablefish using hooks and lines that are set close to the ocean floor. |

What types of salmon are there?
There are five species of salmon. King also known as Chinook, Silver also known as Coho, Sockeye also known as Red, Chum also known as Keta salmon, and Pink also known as humpies.

Yes, all fish sold by Seafood Producers Cooperative is caught in the ocean and is wild in origin. |

How do I join the Co-op?
The easiest way to find out about joining the Co-op is to contact the main office in Bellingham. The phone number is 360-733-0120 and we will be able to answer questions regarding membership.

Who are the Co-op members?
SPC members come from a diverse background throughout the West Coast and United States. All of the fishermen participate in specific West Coast fisheries from California to Alaska. Currently SPC has approximately 500 members who fish. |
