All SPC fish are caught using hook & line methods. These
methods (trolling and longlining) catch fish in the open ocean at
their peak of quality one at a time. All SPC fisherman follow
strict on-board handling guidelines established by the cooperative. Every
fish delivery is evaluated on a Quality Report Card Assurance Program
run by our Quality Assurance personnel. The Quality Assurance
Program is the most stringent in the seafood industry assuring
you only the best quality.
The Seafood Producers Cooperative participates in fisheries that
are managed wisely to ensure the long-term sustainability of wild
and natural fish stocks and the economic stability of coastal communities. SPC’s
Alaska-caught products (salmon, sablefish, & halibut) have been
recognized by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as sustainable
fisheries. SPC’s MSC certification number is SF-C-1001.
Seafood Producers Co-op is a Kosher certified seafood plant. Our plant can provide Kosher certified sablefish, halibut, king and coho salmon.
